Tin ingot is the absolute core raw material of the global electronics manufacturing industry, with more than 52% of the world’s annual tin ingot output used to produce various soldering materials that connect every circuit on modern electronic devices. All mainstream lead-free solder alloys, including SAC305, SAC0307 and Sn-Cu series, use high-purity tin ingot as the base metal, with only a small proportion of silver, copper or other trace elements added to adjust performance.

High-quality tin ingot with extremely low impurity content ensures that the produced solder wire, solder bar and solder paste have consistent melting characteristics, no harmful residue during soldering, and form bright, high-strength solder joints that will not crack under long-term thermal cycling. For semiconductor packaging production, the ultra-high purity 99.995% tin ingot derived from standard tin ingot through secondary refining is used to produce solder bumps on chips, which requires zero impurity to avoid signal transmission failure.

In recent years, as the global new energy vehicle industry expands, the demand for high-quality tin ingot for automotive electronic soldering has grown at an annual rate of 12%. Automotive grade solder made from qualified tin ingot must withstand more than 1000 thermal cycles between -40°C and 125°C without joint failure, which puts forward higher and higher purity requirements for tin ingot raw materials in the whole electronics supply chain.
