Description
Description

Chromium bronze rod is a copper alloy containing 0.4%~1.1%Cr. The content of Al and Mg in chromium bronze rod is usually less than 0.3% respectively. Zr can form a compound Cr2Zr that is solidly soluble in Cu with Cr in chromium bronze rod. The solubility of Zr decreases obviously with decreasing temperature, which improves the strength, hardness and heat resistance of the alloy, and has little effect on the electrical conductivity of the alloy.

Chromium bronze rod features:

Chromium bronze rods can be strengthened by quenching-aging or quenching-cold deformation-aging. At the eutectic temperature of 1072 °C, the maximum solubility of chromium in copper is 0.65% (some literatures believe that 0.68%). The softening temperature of the aged chromium bronze rod is 400°C, which is twice that of cold-worked copper.
