Description
Description

The chromium bronze sheet is a high copper alloy Cu-Cr binary phase containing 0.4%~1.1% Cr (mass fraction, the same below).  At the eutectic temperature of 1072 ° C, the maximum solubility of chromium in copper is 0.65% (there is a literature that it is 0.68%). The trademarks of domestic chromium bronze sheets mainly include QCr0.5, QCr0. 5-0. 2-0.1, QCr0. 6-0. 4-0. 05, etc. There are many trademarks of chromium bronze sheets in the American ASTM standard, including C18150, C18200, C18400, C18500, etc.

Properties

The alloy has excellent cold and hot working properties, and can be subjected to hot working such as kneading, hot rolling, and casting (requiring solution treatment after forging). The alloy can be soldered, silver soldered and brazed, and is easy to perform gas-maintained arc welding.

Application

Mainly used in motor commutators, collector rings, high temperature switches, electrodes of electric welding machines, rollers, grippers, brake discs used in bimetallic mode and other parts.

Chromium bronze sheet features:

With the drop of temperature, the solid solubility drops sharply, and the Cr particle phase is separated after the aging treatment after solid solution. The chromium bronze sheet can be quenched and aged or quenched and deformed by cold, and the aging treatment can be strengthened. The addition of chromium, on the one hand, significantly improves the recrystallization temperature and thermal strength of the alloy; on the other hand, the electrical conductivity of copper decreases slightly.
