Niobium rods are composed of high-purity niobium with a small amount of impurities. Niobium in pure niobium rod is a rare high melting point metal with silver gray, soft texture and ductility. Niobium rod has the characteristics of low density, high strength, good heat resistance and corrosion resistance. The atomic size of niobium is almost the same as the atom of tantalum below it, so the chemical properties of niobium are very similar to tantalum, and niobium rods can replace tantalum rods under lower requirements.
