Characteristics |
Zirconium alloy has isomorphous transformation, the high temperature phase is β-Zr with body-centered cubic structure, and the low temperature phase is α-Zr with close-packed hexagonal structure. The transition temperature of pure zirconium is 862°C. The transformation temperature of alloy and industrial zirconium is affected by alloying elements and impurity elements: the addition of iron, nickel, chromium, and niobium narrows the α-Zr phase region and reduces the transformation temperature. |
