Overview and classification of electrical silicon steel sheet:

A soft magnetic alloy of ferrosilicon with very low carbon content. According to the chemical composition can be divided into low silicon steel (containing 1.0% ~ 2.5% silicon) and high silicon steel (containing 3.0% ~ 4.5% silicon). The addition of silicon can increase resistivity and to large permeability, reduce coercivity, core loss (iron loss) and magnetic aging. It is mainly used as the iron core of various transformers, motors and generators. According to different uses, the content of silicon and aluminum is changed during smelting to meet different magnetic requirements.Silicon steel is mainly used in industry to produce hot or cold rolled silicon steel sheet.

According to the chemical composition of silicon steel can be divided into low silicon steel and high silicon steel. Low silicon steel silicon content WSI 1.0%-2.5%, mainly used to manufacture motor; High silicon steel silicon content WSI 3.0%-4.5%, generally used to manufacture transformers. Their carbon content Wc 0.06%-0.08%.

Silicon steel for electrical purposes has excellent electromagnetic properties and is an indispensable magnetic material in the electric power, telecommunications and instrument industries.

Classification of silicon steel sheet

A. Silicon steel sheet according to its silicon content can be divided into low silicon and high silicon. Low silicon wafer silicon content below 2.8%, it has a certain mechanical strength, mainly used in the manufacture of motor, commonly known as motor silicon steel sheet; The silicon content of high silicon wafer is 2.8%-4.8%. It has good magnetism, but it is brittle. It is mainly used in the manufacture of transformer iron core, commonly known as transformer silicon steel sheet. There is no strict boundary between the two in actual use, and high silicon wafer is commonly used to manufacture large motor.

B. According to the production process can be divided into hot rolling and cold rolling. The thickness of cold rolled wafer is uniform, the surface quality is good and the magnetic properties are high. Therefore, with the development of industry, hot rolled wafer has a tendency to be replaced by cold rolled wafer.
