Magnesium, the lightest of the structural metals, has a high strength-to-weight ratio and can replace steel, cast iron, zinc alloys and even aluminum alloys where they have traditionally been used. In addition, magnesium alloy bar has the following properties :(1) excellent thermal conductivity and shock absorption; (2) Anti-EMI electromagnetic wave; (3) high dimensional stability; (4) Can be 100% recycled, known as green engineering materials. The advantages of magnesium alloy bar make it one of the preferred materials for manufacturing structural parts in industrial products. It is mainly used for making objects of light and high strength. Magnesium alloy bar die casting is mainly applied in notebook computer, camera and camera products (collectively known as 3C products).
Compared with die casting parts, extrusion casting parts have better mechanical properties and surface quality. The diameter of extrusion casting magnesium alloy bar fittings developed in this project can be up to 300mm, and the wall thickness of 2~4mm can be up to 1m in length. AZ31 series magnesium alloy bar extrusion casting pipe fittings have good mechanical properties, with tensile strength greater than 270MPa. The yield strength is greater than 180MPa and the elongation is greater than 15%. Can be used in bearing cage and other products. The main factors of magnesium alloy sheet are two: one is that the plastic deformation capacity of large sections of magnesium alloy is poor at room temperature, and there is serious anisotropy in the rolled sheet; Second, the preparation process of magnesium alloy sheet is not mature enough, and the mechanical properties need to be further improved.
