Performance characteristics of brass belt: Brass belt not only has beautiful luster, good mechanical properties, technological properties and corrosion resistance, but also cheap, is the most widely used alloy in copper alloy, used in hardware, daily necessities, screws and other industries. At present, the horizontal continuous casting technology of brass belt has been improved greatly, but the grain of the casting billet is often coarse, and the milling mode of low speed and no heavy sharpening tool is difficult to eliminate all surface defects, so the hot rolling process of semi-continuous ingot casting billet can better meet the requirements of surface quality. However, when the hot rolling process of semi-continuous ingot is used to produce brass strip, it is in the phase transformation zone of α phase and β phase during the hot rolling process, and the edge of the strip is prone to crack, peeling and other defects, which increases the amount of cutting edge, reduces the yield and affects the quality of the product. In this paper, by simulating the microstructure change of brass and the distribution of β phase in the process of hot rolling, the mechanism of hot rolling crack of brass belt was studied, the influencing factors of hot rolling crack edge were analyzed, and the solution measures were put forward based on the production experience, which has certain positive significance for guiding the production of brass belt.

Solubility is less than 30wt% in matrix and about 5wt in brass. The % Zn exists in the matrix in the form of β phase, so the brass is α+β biphase brass under slow cooling condition. Even if the cooling rate is relatively fast in the actual production and it is non-equilibrium crystallization, some β phase will still precipitate.
