Properties of silicon steel sheet

Silicon steel sheet is a very widely used metal material in the industrial field. It is a soft magnetic alloy of ferrosilicon with low carbon content. Generally, the silicon content is 0.5 ~ 4.5%. The addition of silicon can improve the resistivity and permeability of iron, and reduce the coercivity, core loss (iron loss) and magnetic aging.  In the industry, it is widely used in the manufacture of magnetic conductivity, transformer, relay, generator, magnetic amplifier, etc., mainly used in power, electrical, communication, machinery and other industries. Today, we introduce the performance indicators of silicon steel sheet:

Under normal circumstances, the silicon content of the silicon steel sheet increases, the iron loss, blanking and magnetic sensation decreases, and the hardness increases. The higher the operating frequency, the greater the eddy current loss, and the thinner the silicon steel sheet should be.

The performance requirements of silicon steel:

1. Low iron loss, which is an important indicator of the quality of silicon steel sheet. Countries are divided according to the iron damage, the lower the iron damage, the higher the brand.

2. Strong magnetic field under the magnetic induction intensity (magnetic sensation) is high, which makes the motor and transformer iron core volume and weight reduction, saving silicon steel sheet copper wire and insulation materials.

3. The surface is smooth, smooth and uniform thickness, can improve the filling coefficient of the iron core.

4. Good punching property is more important for the manufacture of miniature and small motor.

5. The surface insulation film adhesion and weldability is good, can prevent corrosion and improve the punching.

The quality of the silicon steel sheet depends on the material and processing technology of the silicon steel sheet, which directly affects the quality of the downstream products. The stamping method and annealing method in the processing process are very important. The transformer performance of the silicon steel sheet with small burr and large burr is 7% worse. There is a difference of 7-10% between the performance of the transformer made of silicon steel sheet with the same material (nitrogen protected annealing) and non-annealed silicon steel sheet.
